EMEA Flag – LinkedIn Dublin

This woven flag represents the countries of EMEA which stands for Europe, Middle East and Africa. It is made up of patterns from the region and symbolises LinkedIn’s ‘close knit’ community. This tapestry was constructed by hand on a simple four sided frame loom. The process took three months to complete. Vertical cotton threads make up the warp which serves as a base for the weaving. Loom Weaving

These blankets were commissioned as a wedding gift. The inspiration was drawn from photos containing images of landscapes from two continents. Materials used are wool and mixed manmade fibres creating a soft finished texture. A booklet accompanied the gift with images of the design and handweaving process.

Tapestry wallhanging on display in the Augustinian Church, Shop Street, Drogheda. This piece was commissioned by the Augustinian Community to celebrate their 700 years in the town. It features motifs from the Harry Clarke stained glass window which can be seen in the church.  The image of the Grandmother or Sean Mhathair depicts feminine wisdom in a time of change.  Acceptance of the stages of abundance, decay, stillness and new growth as a part of life…something to live with..to dance with.. Brigit

This tapestry is woven from cotton and wool on a cotton warp. The bowl, beads and moon shape on the top right hand corner are felted from local sheep’s wool. Approximate size:  3ft x 2ft. In Ireland there was a strong presence of pagan worship to the goddess Brid that left behind many stories,songs and rituals.  The presence of Brid in the Irish psyche amalgamated into present day St. Brigit whose feast day is celebrated on February 1st each year.
